About

virtualbarrymartin.me is a personal Blog about the ever changing world of servers, virtualization and storage.  My goal is to document my thoughts and share ideas and solutions that impact the lives of IT professionals.

A little about me.  I am Barry Martin, I am 39 years old.  I am happily married to Kim Martin and we have 2 little boys, Reid and Lucas.  I have been working in the industry since 1992.  I currently own a consulting company in Louisville, KY called The Mirazon Group.  I founded the company in February 2000 with three partners, Karen Albers, John Ross, and Craig Stein.  We are a Microsoft Gold Partner, VMware Enterprise Partner, Veeam Software Gold Partner (the 1st Gold partner), DataCore Gold Partner(1st in US), Xiotech Partner, and Cisco Partner.  I will not let our partnerships cloud my judgment or opinions but I will document their products and use cases.  My role at Mirazon is Partner and Chief Technical Architect.  It is my responsibility to make sure we are aligned with the best technology in the industry to create and provide solutions for our customers.  At Mirazon, we will not recommend solutions to our customers that do not make sense, both technically and financially.  We employ the best and brightest engineers that can uphold the same beliefs and principles as the four partners.

To document my experience and expertise I hold the following certifications:

MCITP:Enterprise Administrator, Server Administrator, Enterprise Messaging Administrator

MCTS:Server 2008, Windows 7, Hyper-V, SCVMM, Exchange 2007

MCT since 1996
